Sasha is investigating the synthesis and characterization of layered 2D materials, namely Tin disulfide, and methods for chemically modifying their properties. Current work focuses on solution-phase intercalation and the characterization of structural, optical, and electronic changes in these materials.

What brought you to WPI?

I was drawn to WPI because of its strong emphasis on hands-on learning and opportunities for undergraduate research. I was particularly interested in being able to apply my interests in chemistry and engineering to real research problems while working closely with faculty and other students.

What are your research interests?

My research interests include materials synthesis, crystallography, and the structural and physical characterization of low-dimensional materials. I am particularly interested in understanding how chemical modification and structural changes can be used to tune material properties.
