Installation day 1:

Lots of boxes, no monochromator!  Pressure ~760 torr.

Installation day 3:

Pumps all connected, monochromator attached.  Pressure ~0.1 μtorr.

Installation day 4:

Bakeout!  The pressure is higher today to drive off adsorbed water on the insides of the chamber walls.  Pressure 3.5 μtorr.

Installation day 6:

Bakeout over.  Pressure ~8 ntorr.  Sufficiently low to turn on the x-ray sources and start aligning the x-ray source, the sample positions, and the monochromator!

Installation day 9:

Phosphorescent sample illuminated with Al Kα x-rays from the the twin anode source.

Phosphorescent sample illuminated with Al Kα x-rays from the the monochromated source.

Installation day 10:

Installation complete!  Pressure 0.8 ntorr and ready for use!
